Somnus
Immersive Media Experience - Part of the Spektrum Installation
Under the title Spektrum, I had the opportunity to transform the nave of Antoniuskirche in Graz into a captivating exploration of light and sound. The installation, presented at the Volkskundemuseum as part of the Klanglicht Festival 2024, invited audiences to experience diverse spectra — emotional and conceptual, visual and auditory — through a series of immersive projects. In collaboration with lighting artists, Somnus mirrored the stages of sleep with gentle soundscapes and soft lighting to represent light sleep, while dynamic bursts of sound and light captured the vivid intensity of dreams. The musical composition was created for a specially designed 6.2 surround sound system and I had the chance to record singer Evelina Kalnina, of which vocal sounds helped shape the composition.
